Lesley Brown

Lesley joined East Lothian Council in 2017 and has been Executive Director for Education and Children’s Services since 2020. Lesley started her career as a primary teacher in Strathclyde region and in Ayrshire before becoming Head Teacher of Logan PS and NC in East Ayrshire in 2000. Lesley then moved on to HMIE where she held various roles as HMI until 2017.

As well as being a member of the ADES Executive, Lesley has led a number of areas of work, including chairing the ADES Promise Group and representing ADES on the Scotland Advisory Committee of the British Council and on the board of SCILT. She also helped develop ‘How Good is our Education Authority’ and the work of the Quads
